Per il quarto anno consecutivo saremo ospiti dell\u2019Universit\u00e0 degli Studi Milano-Bicocca<\/a>. Avremo a disposizione 2 aule attrezzate per i talk, un’aula per i workshop e spazi per incontrarci, ascoltare interventi di esperti, per conoscere gli sponsor e pranzare insieme in Edificio U6.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Cogliamo l\u2019occasione per ringraziare formalmente sia la professoressa Daniela Micucci e il Dipartimento di Informatica Sistemistica e Comunicazione (DISCo), sia il Rettorato dell\u2019Universit\u00e0 degli Studi Milano-Bicocca, per il sostegno e la collaborazione. Un sentito ringraziamento va anche ai responsabili della logistica e alla grande disponibilit\u00e0 di Barbara Veronesi.<\/p>\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n

L\u2019universit\u00e0 Milano-Bicocca nasce con l\u2019obiettivo di fare della ricerca il fondamento strategico di tutta l\u2019attivit\u00e0 istituzionale. Ricerca intesa come ampliamento della conoscenza e qualificazione dell\u2019attivit\u00e0 formativa, come strumento di relazione con il territorio e come contributo allo sviluppo del sistema produttivo.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

L\u2019Ateneo ha stabili e intensi rapporti con il mondo imprenditoriale e\n dedica particolare attenzione alla realt\u00e0 territoriale in cui \u00e8 \ninserito, privilegiando, al tempo stesso, anche la dimensione \ninternazionale.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Bicocca \u00e8 un ateneo multidisciplinare con un\u2019offerta didattica \narticolata in 70 corsi di studio (36 Corsi di laurea triennali e Corsi \ndi laurea magistrale a ciclo unico e 34 Corsi di laurea magistrali) \ndivisi in sette grandi aree disciplinari: Economico-Statistica, \nGiuridica, Medica, Psicologica, Scientifica e Sociologica e Scienze \ndella formazione. A questi si aggiungono 21 Corsi di Dottorato \ncoordinati da un\u2019unica Scuola di Dottorato di Ricerca, 37 Scuole di \nSpecializzazione, Master universitari di primo e secondo livello, \nSummer&Winter Schools in lingua inglese.
\nL\u2019universit\u00e0 ha anche un secondo polo, a Monza, dove ha sede la Facolt\u00e0 \ndi Medicina e Chirurgia che conta 5 corsi di laurea magistrale, 7 corsi \ndi laurea e 43 corsi post laurea, e accoglie pi\u00f9 di 2700 studenti.
\nNell\u2019anno accademico 2016\/17 gli studenti iscritti all\u2019Universit\u00e0 Bicocca sono stati 32.841, di cui il 61,1% donne.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Il campus Milano-Bicocca. <\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n

Il Campus sorge nell\u2019omonimo quartiere nel quadrante nord-est del \ncapoluogo milanese, un tempo sede di grandi industrie come la Breda e la\n Pirelli. Un ampio piano di riqualificazione urbana, avviato intorno al \n1986 e coordinato dall\u2019architetto Vittorio Gregotti<\/a>,\n ha riconvertito l\u2019area trasformandola in un nuovo quartiere di servizi e\n \u201csapere\u201d, del quale l\u2019Universit\u00e0 \u00e8 diventata il centro ideale.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Nel contesto territoriale il ruolo dell\u2019Universit\u00e0 non si esprime \nsolo nella funzione istituzionale di agenzia formativa e divulgatrice \ndel sapere, ma anche come centro attivo nell\u2019economia, che si \nconcretizza nella valorizzazione e diffusione delle conoscenze prodotte \ndalla ricerca e nelle iniziative di trasferimento tecnologico.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u00c8 inoltre interessante e rappresentativo il ruolo trainante che la \nnuova Universit\u00e0 milanese ha assunto negli anni nelle trasformazioni del\n quartiere, che riguardano la vivibilit\u00e0, la creazione di spazi di \nincontro sociale e culturale. Non a caso l\u2019immagine del quartiere ha \nfinito per identificarsi sempre pi\u00f9 con l\u2019Universit\u00e0, che ne costituisce\n la \u201cnuova\u201d anima.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

L’edificio U6, sede di WordCamp Milano 2019<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n

Il Campus \u00e8 costituito da 25 moderni edifici che si estendono su una \nsuperficie totale di 290.000 mq, distribuiti tra il polo cittadino e il \npolo Biomedico di Monza. A disposizione degli studenti ci sono 207 aule \ncablate e attrezzate, 20 mila posti aula di cui 300 per disabili, quasi \nduemila postazioni informatiche, la copertura WiFi integrale, decine di \nspazi studio attrezzati, biblioteche, residenze, mense e servizi di \ntrasporto interni (navetta gratuita e una flotta di biciclette per \nspostarsi tra gli edifici).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Nel ranking Times Higher Education<\/a> 2018, dedicato alle cento universit\u00e0 con meno di 50 anni, l\u2019Ateneo si \u00e8 classificato al 69\u00b0 posto nel mondo.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Una location di prestigio e di altissimo profilo, insomma, per questo\n nostro terzo WordCamp, un evento che ormai un appuntamento fisso per la\n Community italiana, cresciuto proprio grazie a sinergie produttive sia \ncon il contesto accademico che con quello tecnologico e professionale \nurbano, regionale e nazionale.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Lo spirito alla base della Community di WordPress \u00e8 la condivisione \ndella conoscenza e la partecipazione per la crescita collettiva, \nprincipi che si sposano egregiamente con gli obiettivi dell\u2019Universit\u00e0 \ndegli Studi Milano-Bicocca.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Milano-Bicocca campus. <\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n

The University of Milan-Bicocca was created with the aim of making research the strategic foundation of all institutional activity. Research intended as a widening of the knowledge and qualification of the training activity, as an instrument of relation with the territory and as a contribution to the development of the productive system.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The University has stable and intense relationships with the business world and pays particular attention to the territorial reality in which it is inserted, privileging, at the same time, also the international dimension.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Bicocca is a multidisciplinary university with a didactic offer divided into 70 study courses (36 three-year degree courses and single-cycle master’s degree courses and 34 master’s degree courses) divided into seven major subject areas: Economic-Statistical, Legal, Medical, Psychological, Scientific and Sociological and Educational Sciences. To these are added 21 Doctoral Courses coordinated by a single Doctoral School, 37 Specialization Schools, first and second level University Masters, Summer & Winter Schools in English.
The university also has a second center, in Monza, where the Faculty of Medicine and Surgery is located, which has 5 master’s degree courses, 7 degree courses and 43 post-graduate courses, and welcomes more than 2,700 students.
In the academic year 2016\/17 the students enrolled at the Bicocca University amounted to 32,841, of which 61.1% were women.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Campus is located in the district of the same name in the north-east quadrant of the Milanese capital, once the site of major industries such as Breda and Pirelli. An extensive urban redevelopment plan, started around 1986 and coordinated by the architect Vittorio Gregotti, has reconverted the area transforming it into a new district of services and “knowledge”, of which the University has become the ideal center.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In the territorial context, the role of the University is not only expressed in the institutional function of a training agency and disseminator of knowledge, but also as an active center in the economy, which is realized in the enhancement and dissemination of knowledge produced by research and technology transfer initiatives .<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Campus consists of 25 modern buildings that extend over a total area of \u200b\u200b290,000 square meters, distributed between the city center and the Biomedical pole of Monza. Available to students are 207 wired and equipped classrooms, 20,000 classroom seats, 300 for disabled people, almost two thousand computer workstations, full WiFi coverage, dozens of equipped studio spaces, libraries, residences, canteens and internal transport services (shuttle free and a fleet of bicycles to move between the buildings).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In the Times Higher Education 2018 ranking, dedicated to the one hundred universities with less than 50 years, the University ranked 69th in the world.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
