Da oggi, mancano soltanto 10 giorni alla chiusura della call for speaker. Adesso è il tuo momento per candidarti! Per aiutarti, abbiamo compilato una lista di domande frequenti.
Che tipo di talk accettate?
Qualsiasi! Davvero, siamo aperti a tutte le proposte, dai talk più tecnici a quelli motivazionali.
L’unico requisito di quest’anno è il tema, “Consigli pratici”.
Quanto devono essere lunghi i talk?
Tendenzialmente ci saranno due tipologie di talk:
- Lightning talks: (massimo 10 minuti con Q&A di gruppo)
- Long form talks: (massimo 40 minuti, incluso Q&A)
Ma se hai delle proposte saremo lieti di ascoltarle!
Ci sarà supporto per gli speaker accettati?
Sì: se hai bisogno di una mano con le slide, oppure per preparare il talk, possiamo affiancarti un mentore che potrà seguirti.
Non ho mai parlato in pubblico: è un problema?
Assolutamente no! WordCamp Milano può essere un’ottimo trampolino di lancio per la tua carriera di public speaker 😉
I talk devono necessariamente riguardare WordPress?
Tendenzialmente sì, ma non è un requisito obbligatorio.
Gestione dei progetti, remote working, processi di design: questi sono solo alcuni esempi di argomenti che gravitano attorno all’universo WordPress.
Avrò un compenso o un rimborso come speaker?
Non è previsto nessun rimborso per gli speaker di WordCamp Milano, dato che i WordCamp sono su base volontaria.
Tutti i relatori però avranno diritto all’ingresso gratuito al WordCamp, quindi se ti candidi non procedere per ora con l’acquisto del biglietto!
Se mi candido, verrò sicuramente scelto come speaker?
Quest’anno abbiamo previsto solo venti talk e, di conseguenza, venti speaker. L’anno scorso ci sono arrivate più di 70 candidature e, ovviamente, non abbiamo potuto scegliere tutti. Quindi se la tua candidatura verrà respinta non ti demoralizzare!
Nel caso in cui la tua candidatura venga respinta e tu decida comunque di venire (ovvio! ) non preoccuparti di restare senza biglietto: ne conserveremo uno per te, da acquistare al momento opportuno!
Quanti talk posso proporre?
Se vuoi candidarti con più talk, compila e invia tanti form quanti sono i talk che vuoi proporre!
Ovviamente, inviando più di una proposta, le possibilità di essere scelti aumentano, quindi non aver paura e sottoponici tutte le tue idee 😉

Our Call for Speakers is closing in 10 days! Now is your moment to apply to speak. To help you, we’ve listed some of the most frequently asked questions.
What kind of talks do you accept?
Any kind of talk is accepted! Really, we are open to all kinds of applications, from technical talks to motivational ones.
The only requirement for this year is the theme, “Practical tips”.
How long do sessions have to be?
There will two formats:
- Lightning talks: (maximum of 10 mins with a group Q&A)
- Long form talks: (maximum of 40 mins inclusive of Q&A)
Will there be support for accepted speakers?
Yes: all accepted speakers will be asked if they would like to participate in the speakers mentoring program. The mentor will support you up to the event reviewing slides and preparing the talk.
It’s my first experience of public speaking. Is that a problem?
Absolutely not! WordCamp Milano could be a fantastic stage to start your public speaking career 😉
Do talks have to be WordPress related?
Generally yes, but it’s not a strict requirement.
Project management, remote working, accessibility, design processes: these are only some examples of topics that gravitate around the WordPress universe and that we’ll be happy to hear about.
Is there some kind of reimbursement?
There is no reimbursement for WordCamp Milano’s speakers.
We will provide a free ticket for all accepted speaker, so don’t purchase your ticket yet!
If I apply, will I be accepted for sure?
This year we’ve planned to have only around twenty talks. Last year we had more than 70 applications, so we couldn’t accept everyone. So if your application is not accepted, don’t be sad! 🙂
Obviously, we will keep aside a ticket for you if you are not accepted, so that you’ll be able to purchase one, and come to WordCamp Milano anyway!
How many times could I apply?
As many as you want. Just submit multiple times the call for speakers form!
This will significantly increase your chances of being accepted and give us a wider variety of talks to select from.
